This is design the focuses on decorative detailed touches, like elaborate carvings and rich detailing. There is emphasis on both the crown and and base, which take inspiration from European architecture.

Transitional clocks are often designed with the influence of the Art Deco Era, with bits and pieces of traditional grandfather clock design.

The clocks have smoother forms with more neutral elements and neat lines. They often utilize more metal or glass and use quartz batteries as their way of operating.

This is single-weight pendulum that has a simplistic design. This gear system cannot ring a bell, but it would not be difficult to include. All it needs is a striker and counting system added to the empowering wheel.
The design on the right would be the general design of how all modern grandfather clocks would look like.

FLOOR-CEILING CLOCK
The grandfather clock is now separated into two separate pieces that converge and interacts with each other in the center. Time will be indicated by the hour as the pendulum swings to indicate time in seconds.
IDEATIONS
The grandfather clock will take on an approach opposite of the alternate name of Floor Clock and instead be a Ceiling Clock. This almost acts as a chandelier but also takes into consideration vertical and horizontal time telling. I am following the focus of contemporary design.

PROSPECTIVE TIME TELLING
Most clocks and grandfather clocks tell the time in a 2-dimensional perspective. With these prototypes, they explore directions in 3 dimensions.
RENDERED CONCEPTS
REFINED CONCEPT #1
This model uses the primary gear function of the grandfather clock to power the system.
The same gear function is used to allow for rotation of the inner ring which indicates time in minutes.
This is designed to be visually strong with a glass barrel to view the internal components
The center piece is designed to interact with the pendulum and indicate the time in hours with the bottom plate.

The gears are now more aesthetic with a more architectural feel to it.
The indicator is much more precise and takes on the style of AP more closely.
The components are more sensible and are cleaned up to have visual clarity.
The full body feels too fragile but now exudes a feeling of luxury

This part is the main function of the grandfather clock, which indicates the time both in hours and in seconds
BOTTOM FACE PLATE
This part has the points of measurements in time that show the use of what hour it is during the day. There is an internal component that indicates minutes utilizing the inner ring.

The flying tourbillon acts as the primary motor that powers the entire systematic clock.
